Brett Profile (1).jpg

Brett Orchard is a writer, broadcaster, storyteller, voiceover artist and creative entrepreneur, and the person behind much of the heart, humour and imagination that powers DaysLikeThis.Life.

While many people now know Brett through the family brand and the world that has grown around it, the experience behind it has been built over many years in media, broadcasting, live promotion, writing and entertainment.

Long before social media and family content became part of everyday life, Brett built a substantial career in radio, broadcasting, promotions, events and media. He spent years creating ideas, shaping brands, building audiences and understanding what genuinely connects with people.

That background still sits at the centre of everything he does today. Whether he is writing, presenting, recording, promoting or developing a new project, it all comes from a deep understanding of storytelling, audience connection and how to hold people’s attention in a crowded world.

At heart, Brett has always been a storyteller. That instinct runs through every part of his work. As an author, he has written across a range of genres, from children’s adventure stories to mystery, suspense and darker true-crime-inspired material.
His Six Adventures series reflects much of what defines his style, warmth, atmosphere, real emotion, classic adventure and a strong sense of place.

Books such as The Legend of St Mawes show not only his imagination, but also his love of character, nostalgia and meaningful storytelling that stays with people long after the final page.

Alongside his writing, Brett is also a highly experienced broadcaster and podcast host, with a long-standing love of radio, spoken-word entertainment and classic storytelling. He has always believed in the power of voice, mood and atmosphere, something that comes naturally to him both behind the microphone and on screen.

There is a depth to Brett’s on-screen presence that comes from real experience, not performance. What people see now through DaysLikeThis.Life is not a character created for social media, but a natural extension of someone who has spent years working in media, communicating with audiences and telling stories in one form or another.

Together with his wife Vikki and their family, Brett has helped build DaysLikeThis.Life into something far more meaningful than a website or content channel. It has become a genuine family brand built on books, humour, travel, adventure, nostalgia, creativity and real life.

Brett’s role within that has never simply been to appear in the videos. He is an ideas man, a creative force and a natural brand builder, always looking at the bigger picture and the long-term potential in a strong idea, a simple moment or a story worth telling.

Away from writing and broadcasting, Brett is also a lifelong classic car enthusiast, with a genuine love of iconic vehicles and the history, design and character that come with them. Over the years he has owned an extraordinary mix of cars, including Porsche, Bentley, Rolls-Royce, Lotus and Healey, as well as unforgettable television-inspired vehicles including a replica Starsky & Hutch Ford Torino, a screen-accurate KITT from Knight Rider and an A-Team van, some of which he still regrets selling.
For Brett, classic cars have never been about status. They are about personality, nostalgia, craftsmanship and the stories they carry with them.

Another of the great constants in his life has been boxing. Brett has trained for nearly 20 years with his trainer and close friend Neil at Cobra Gym in Bristol, and boxing remains one of his deepest long-term passions.

He still enjoys sparring, values the discipline and focus the sport demands, and respects the honesty of a world where character is properly tested. For Brett, boxing is about far more than fitness. It is about resilience, self-control, confidence, mental toughness and the therapeutic focus that comes from stepping into the ring and switching everything else off. He also believes strongly in the value boxing can bring to young people, particularly in building confidence and discipline, while always understanding that outside the gym and beyond the ring, fighting should be a very last resort.

Above all, Brett Orchard is a family man, creator, broadcaster and storyteller with a deep love of books, media, adventure, nostalgia and meaningful connection. Everything he does, whether in writing, broadcasting, podcasting, family content, classic cars or boxing, is rooted in personality, experience and a genuine love of entertaining people. DaysLikeThis.Life may be where many people have discovered him, but it is built on years of real media experience, creative instinct and a lifelong passion for storytelling.
