Brett's Garage
Classic cars, prestige motors, old favourites and the ones that got away.
Welcome to Brett Orchard's Garage. Brett's archive of Classic Cars, Prestige Cars, TV Cars and Motoring Passion.

I’ve loved cars for as long as I can remember, especially classic and prestige cars.

Sure, I have the boring cars, the workhorses that I use as the daily family driver but I absolutely love having something for a special occasion that is just there for a bit of fun.
That love came from my dad, Bob. For me, cars have never just been about getting from A to B. They are about character, craftsmanship, memories and stories. I’ve always loved the shape of them, the smell of them, the sound of them and the feeling that each one has a personality of its own.

Over the years, buying, improving, renovating and enjoying classic and prestige cars became a genuine hobby for me, and a really profitable one at times... not so much at others!
I’ve probably owned well over a hundred through the years, and almost all of them were classics or something I considered a little bit special. Some were elegant, some were outrageous, some were pure nostalgia, and quite a few are cars I still think about now.

One of the most special memories of my life was being able to reunite my father with his first ever car, an Austin Healey Sprite, one Christmas. He thought it had been lost forever, so seeing that moment meant far more than any price tag ever could. That is what cars can do. The right one is never just a machine. It becomes part of family history.

So this is my little corner of dayslikethis.life for the cars I’ve owned, the ones I’ve loved, the ones I sold, and the ones I probably should have kept.

Welcome to Brett’s Garage

A few from the archive
Over the years I’ve owned everything from British sports cars to prestige saloons, TV icons, American muscle and big luxury cruisers. I have always enjoyed finding cars with potential, bringing them up nicely and enjoying them properly before moving them on.
Some stayed longer than others. Some were projects. Some were impulse buys. Some were childhood dream cars. Quite a few were an absolute nightmare! But they all added something to the story.

Here are just a few of the cars that have passed through Brett’s Garage.

The Ones I Should Have Kept
Like any true car enthusiast, there are a few that still play on my mind.

Not just because of what they might be worth now, but because of how much I loved them, the work that went into them, or the memories attached to them.
These are the ones that really got away.

Still In The Garage
For all the cars that have come and gone over the years, there are a few that are still very much part of the story.

These are the cars I still own today — and in different ways, they probably say the most about me.
